Our goal is to develop a plan that answers the question, “How can southeastern WI M7/RWA prepare the workforce to acquire the new jobs created by funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)?” We will focus our efforts on gathering and communicating information about these opportunity areas: We are working to compile an inventory of regional certificate programs that target "green jobs", manufacturing and healthcare. Milwaukee's Federal Building and US Courthouse are included in a proposal to convert federal buildings to comply with "green" building standards. The General Services Administration budget proposes $1,564,000 funding for the Milwaukee buildings in the "High Performance Green Building, Limited Scope" category.
